Petition to rename road Trump Tower is on after Obama at 22k signatures

A petition to rename a Chicago street after former President Barack Obama has garnered tens of thousands of signatures.

But it isn't just any street. The petitioners hope to rename the street where the forboding Trump International Hotel and Tower sits, changing its address from Wabash Avenue to Barack Hussein Obama Avenue. The petition organizer describes experiencing challenges living with President Donald Trump's policies.

"This would send a small message about the values we uphold as a city, those of inclusivity, resilience, and forward-thinking change, and fighting back in any way possible," the Change.org petition states. As of June 16, it had garnered more than 22,000 signatures.

The Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago sits at 401 N. Wabash Ave., along the Chicago River.
