Back in the early Sixties I used the seated style with six wheels and
one day rode it down the 2nd story stairs into the 1st floor hallway.
Luckily it handled the steps with out tipping over. Pre-child gate times.
My folks got rid of it.

Giving a child autonomous control as to where she/he wants to go.
