Juneteenth:

Juneteenth 1865. Enslaved people in Galveston finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Freedom existed in law long before it existed in lived reality. That gap is worth remembering honestly.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth.
