'Nothing like it.' Trump unveils new Air Force One grifted from Qatar
WASHINGTON President Donald Trump on Friday, June 19, rolled out his much-debated lavish new ride a Qatar-gifted Boeing 747 jet that is now Air Force One.
Trump showcased the retrofitted plane painted shiny red, white, and blue in an airplane hangar at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland before he headed to Camp David presidential retreat for Father's Day weekend.
With Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A." blasting on loudspeakers, Trump walked down a flight of stairs off the new Air Force One, which features the presidential seal and the words "United States of America" along its side.
"The workmanship of this plane is when you see it, you won't believe it," Trump said in remarks to an audience of service members. "Actually, the quality of the woods, the quality of the materials, the quality of the engines ‒ these engines are the finest in the world. Nothing like it."
