A new University of Texas poll finds Ken Paxton (R) narrowly leading James Talarico (D) in the U.S. Senate race, 43% to 42%.

1. It's gonna be a long, hot summer down here

yet I'm feeling darned pretty good about Talarico's chances this fall. Paxton, acting as their second and champion will critically embarrass himself, his party and his voters eight to nine times by the end of August... let's see if that's enough.
