Hunter Biden . . . the voice of reason. Who knew?

Hunter Biden gives his thoughts on last night’s elections in NY. What do you think?

MeidasTouch (@meidastouch.com) 2026-06-24T15:34:31.906Z

He really did nail it 1-7. I'd change "the country is tired of being managed. People want to be led" to "people want leaders". But that's just a quibble on his words. His 1-7 are IT!

are never going to get it. They must be pushed aside.

And this goes for the DNC. Elections are not a 60 day GOTV exercise. They are about connecting with the people and gaining their trust that you will fight for their interests.

I get fundraising messages every day from the DNC. I have never, ever seen one that says ANYTHING they are committed to accomplishing.

And life itself. Toxins in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat can cause serious illness with huge medical bills. Also birth defects and premature death.

Catastrophic climate change is directly impacting more and more people, and the cost of "natural" disasters are a burden on every taxpayer.

This is an "Eat the rich and burn their data centers and Flock cameras to the ground" year.

The other issues can support that, but these are the emotions that are moving voters.

We have to be smart enough to recognize what is moving the public at any moment. There are powerful issues that will work for us. We must adapt quickly. Mamdani and Platner have been doing this. We need to get all the party on board, rather than calling the ones winning landslide elections "communisits" and "socialists".

And any "leader" who is fighting against the progressives that are winning big, should be moved out of leadership.

I also agree with the focus group thing.

To this day -- I want to punch the writer and director who changed the ending of Pretty in Pink because some focus group said that she should end up with the dickhead rich guy instead of Ducky

It's good he did what his family needed him to do to get better. His life will be based on honesty, and thus, be a much better life than what those who deny reality will ever experience.

Thinking Beau would be proud of him too.

Once again, down-to-earth plain talk wins over consultant speak. Connect with voters in a genuine way or step aside.

The party platform so far has rejected: strengthening language re $15/hr for federal employees, opposing the TPP, carbon tax, single payer healthcare and calling for an end of the occupation and building of more settlements, but for fracking and a no fly zone. I guess this platform is to get the votes of old-time Republicans who aren't fans of Trump. Too bad the platform alienates people who normally think of FDR style democrats and not Republican-lite ones. With this platform I fear most young and progressives will say forget it. I wish the Democrats stood for something except not being as crazy as Trump. A platform should be a vision for the country.

Thu Jun 25, 2026, 01:37 PM

Clean Air Act of 1970
Clean Water Act of 1972
FEMA
Earned Income Tax Credit
ACA
Chips and Science Act

Rivers don't catch on fire anymore. The skies over major US cities don't look like Shanghai. Imagine the response to natural disasters due to climate change without FEMA. The working poor actually get tax relief in a tax code where they normally would just claim the standard deduction and move on. The ACA allowed me to take early retirement on a buyout offer and use the modest buyout cash to pay for health insurance until Medicare kicked in. Folks cried for decades about large-scale manufacturing being done anywhere but the US, even when national security was at risk. Biden and establishment Dems actually passed effective legislation.

precarious time.

There are good people in the "establishment" who in fact have very progressive views and records.

People in office (or running for office) simply need to lead and that means doing the things that Hunter mentions (that's the floor really).
