Just finished ANOTHER spot on Fox "news". This time, bashing Democrats calling them communists, saying the party has no direction etc etc etc.
God I hope we can replace that ******** ***** no good ******* ***** piece of **** soon and replace him with a LIBERAL fighter.

(11,308 posts)to win again and again and then wonder why as bad as the GOP is, their party has maybe even worse approval numbers...there is only one way to win...unite.... even if the candidate might not be perfect.
There are a lot of things I dislike about moderates, but they are not even in the same league as conservatives.
Unite for victory and then worry about perfection later. ☮

(25,766 posts)It's not gonna be subtle, either. He's hopping up on that table, making a speech, dropping trou, and shitting straight into that crystal bowl, right there for everyone to see, no mistake.
I give him 3 or 4 high-profile "surprise" votes before he switches to the R caucus.

.....
His brief tenure in the House of Representatives representing Pennsylvanias 17th Congressional District has yielded indefensible votes real gems such as voting to fund a border wall, prevent families with an undocumented parent from receiving stimulus checks and oppose marijuana decriminalization.
..........
Whos to say, if he makes it out of the Democratic primary victorious, that he wont make all of his silly centrist promises again in the general election and spend at least a year or two actually making good on them? Hes certainly done it before. Lamb voted in line with Trumps position an inexcusable 68% of the time during the 115th Congress, which he joined in April 2018 after winning a special election.
..........
To repeat that last point, during Trump's first term, Lamb voted with Trump 68% of the time!!! .
Fetterman has voted against Trump over 90% of the time. Also, no matter how disappointed one may be in Fetterman, he is a million times better than Dr. Oz would have been in that Senate seat. Lamb was far less likely to beat Oz.

(321,601 posts)Apologized to Conor Lamb".
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York reached out publicly to apologize to fellow Democrat and former U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb.

Fetterman has been angering some Democrats with some of his political positions, described by many as centrist. He has also expressed openness to working with President Donald Trump.
Lamb replied to AOCs apology in the thread:
No need clearly we have been on the same side of the oligarchy question (against) and protecting Social Security and Medicare (for) . lets make that team as big as possible. Good luck on the road, his reply reads.
AOC then replied again:
Amen. Thank you for all you do and lets go get em ❤️, she wrote.

(10,851 posts)I have no idea why people justifiably disappointed in Fetterman think Lamb definitely would have been any better given his voting record in Congress was terrible (I mean voting with Trump 70% of the time?!?!?!?!?!?!?). The things he mentions in his response to AOC as being on the same side, are all things that Fetterman has supported 100% as Senator. Regardless, Lamb never had a chance to win that Primary. 75% of his votes came from the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia metropolitan areas despite those areaas making up only 50% of the population. Lamb had no appeal in the majority of the state outside those 2 largest metro reaas.
And no, I'm not a Fetterman fan at this point. I look forward to voting against his primary opponent if he runs again (I don't believe he will). But the idea that Lamb would be this Lamb progressive champion is just ridiculous.
Henry203
(977 posts)and thrown the democrats under the bus. That is a huge difference. He is feeding MAGA raw meat and that is inexcusable.
Wiz Imp
(10,851 posts)Lamb lost because PA voters didn't like him. He voted with Trump 70% of the time. He never could have won statewide election. But you keep telling yourself he would have been some progressive chaampion. It's absolutely ludicrous.

(2,194 posts)While technically accurate for a specific eight-month period, citing a "68% Trump voting score" for Conor Lamb is highly misleading, as his full-career alignment was only 22%. The statistic stems from a 2022 student newspaper opinion piece focusing on a small sample of bipartisan votes, rather than his overall voting record. Read the full analysis in the original opinion piece from. 🍒⛏️👨🍳
They could have just as easily said "on this particular weekend he voted with Trump 100% of the time"... but that would have been too obvious, wouldn't it?
He would have been far better, except he didn't get any BS stamp of approval... which I sincerely question the value of these days anyway.

(424 posts)The big difference is that with Connor the voters would know what they were getting and that his positions would be. Fetterman got the job running on certain issues and changed once he got the seat. I Dont want to get into why he did what he did but the stroke might have played a role but he might have always been this way. If Connor was voting this way we would have to blame the voters since they knew what it was. With Fetterman doing what hes doing people that donated to his campaign and voted for him have a right to feel betrayed because he didnt run on the issues that hes now vouching for.
