It looks like iodine, for purposes of sterilization. Iodine doesn't wash off that easily.

Back of the hand is one of the worst places to stick a needle. It hurts like hell.

When I had chemo, I had a quick surgical procedure first to install a port, which was just below my collar bone. It made receiving intravenous medication so much easier and it was unobtrusive, too.
Wonder why his doctors haven’t done that. Unless his veins there aren’t good.

I get a 15-minute drip once weekly and have done so for the last 20 years. I've never had a port and my veins are fine.
