It's because if there WAS a truly nonpartisan, educational and classy celebration that let everyone learn and celebrate our country, we would realize what we could be. We would celebrate our diversity, our achievements, and our strengths, yes. But we would learn about what we can do better as well.
We would learn about the importance of civic engagement and how we have always been a country that is imperfect. We would learn about how we can build on those improvements. We would be energized and motivated by the good works that have come before us.
But that's not what the right wants. So, our country is reduced to a partisan, tacky, poorly attended "celebration" that very few want to join. No great music. No great oratory. No joy.
Thanks, donald. You messed this up too. Another notch in your belt, I guess.

You're right about him using the military, but that didn't work too well when he tried it before. The fact is, no one normal who has a choice wants anything to do with this and that's sad for our country, don't you think?

I agree completely with your point, but he did this too. Focus attention away from unity and bonus on himself- surprise.

No celebration for me
