We Are Americans. Fighting For Freedom and Democracy Is What We Do -- Simon Rosenberg

Hopium is not an opiate of the people. La Lucha continua.

-- We Democrats created the modern democratic world order
-- Trump has revived an international war criminal, and is illegally meeting with him in Saudi Arabia
-- Russia's Putin & Heritage oligarchs have for 40 yrs probably planned for our current dismantlement
-- the majority of the country will be with us in this ongoing fight
-- current huge drops in public approval matter because nationwide public polls matter
-- betrayal and appeasement is trump's new America, not maga
-- patriotic opposition also means thanking officials, which keeps them fighting to do the right thing so they don't fear money beating them
-- as weather warms, always know your event organizers; never accept anonymous leaders
-- do not let careless protest rhetoric ('defund the police') get hijacked, de-legitimized, and used against us

having any kind of "organization." That's intended to clear up all any confusion about participatory democracy (a people-to-people pro-Democracy Movement) and some hierarchal/turf style org setup that becomes about itself more than the goal of liberty for all the people.

Thanks so much for your post re Florida. I'm exiled down here so it's good to know the ACLU's more on the ground than I'd thought.

What did you think of his advice listed on the hopium page link?

I hadn't thought of calling the Florida Attorney General. I don't expect our spineless MAGA legislators to personally oppose the unconstitutional destruction of our country themselves, but calling and writing can be done sitting down. Also, it's good to get involved with local and state organizations, grassroots groups, allies. FL has 2 Special Elections coming up April 1, and my local Dems will be calling, sending postcards (if we can afford it) to FL 1st and 6th districts, trying to turn the Redneck Riviera a little blue-er.

If you see a rally or protest you had not heard about, ask which group is organizing it. There's some awesome people out there who have been fighting Florida's authoritarian turn under DeSantis for years, but they don't make the news unless MAGA protestors come out to harass us.

If you go outside to a rally or protest, wear a hat. I've seen people faint in January from heat exhaustion here. Drink water.
