Former Rep. Liz Cheneys (R-Wyo.) PAC donated $2.5 million in October to a Super political action committee (Super PAC), backing Vice President Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Cheneys Super PAC, Our Great Task, gave $2.5 million to American Bridge 21st Century (AB PAC), one of the Democratic Partys top opposition research organizations on Oct. 8, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports filed on Thursday.
AB PAC has gone after former President Trump, Harriss rival, this year, targeting him with negative ads on abortion and the events of Jan. 6, 2021. Cheneys PAC, formed in March of this year, took subtle shots at the Republican nominee in June with a D-Day-themed ad.

(35,637 posts)I think she knows wealthy people who don't want Chump back in the White House. BUT they don't want to be on the record for supporting Harris/Walz either. So Liz is a convenient "middle man."

(10,456 posts)Liz Cheney would ally with Democrats. But in the struggle against Trumpism I welcome any ally in this battle.
I think in terms of Roosevelt and Stalin as allies against Hitler and fascism in ww2. Once the war is over the political rivalry can resume.

Since Republicans tend to have that Libertarian streak of selfishness and "me me me", appealing to that trait in the right way can often sway them into complying enough to create this kind of (temporary) compromise.
