President-elect Donald Trump is poised to push swiftly for new tax cuts if Republicans win full control of Congress, further slashing corporate rates and extending trillions of dollars of other cuts even as the national debt soars.

Major portions of Trumps 2017 tax law are set to expire next year, and Republicans are aiming to give Trump a major legislative accomplishment within his first 100 days in office.
The GOP won control of the Senate in Tuesdays elections. While control of the House is still uncertain, Republicans are optimistic that results are trending toward maintaining their narrow majority.
As party leaders discuss their plans for the early days of a new Trump administration, the attitude thats emerged on taxes is, Just go, according to a top conservative lobbyist familiar with the discussions, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe private talks. Rip the Band-Aid and run and just plow it through.

(668 posts)Well, we will. But they will be applauded for being so great. And then they will take credit for all good economic news that's left over from Biden. Sheeple will just chew on the tax cut cud, oblivious.

(26,979 posts)Plus all the job losses as there won't be money to hire workers and other government workers then there are cuts to military spending which will happen eventually which will lead to more job losses.
Theb there are the cuts to Social Security which will take billions out of the economy and more job losses in various retail stores such as grocery stores including Walmart.
Finally we come to the factory and farmers as without people having money to buy things you'll see farmers losing their farms and factory workers losing their jobs.
That's the real trickle down that's going to happen and all the while the MAGA morons will piss and moan that it's all the governments fault when really it's all theirs.

(668 posts)That govt funding for school lunches, EBT and wic puts money in their pockets. Cut those programs and demand for the farmers crops go down. Complaints about handouts, when those handouts pass through multiple hands in the community.

They then talked about the advantages of heat pumps and how there currently is a $15,000 grant available from the federal government, BUT they continued, Trump has promised to "claw that back." Trump mantra: goodies for me, not for thee.
