Trump says Zelensky 'should have never started' war with Russia

Source: The Hill

President Trump on Tuesday appeared to blame Ukraine’s leaders for the three-year war with Russia, arguing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “should have never started it.”

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, after massing troops on the border and demanding a ban on Ukraine ever joining the NATO alliance. The invasion took place nearly a decade after Russia took over Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.

Trump vowed to end the war during his presidential campaign and on Tuesday repeated his claim that the war would never have started if he had been president. He spoke after U.S. and Russian officials met in Saudi Arabia without Ukraine officials.

“I think I have the power to end this war. And I think it’s going very well,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago on the heels of the meeting between U.S. and Russian officials.

It was Russia who started the wars. Furthermore, Zelenskyy was not even president in 2014. That was Petro Poroshenko. Also, Viktor Yanukovych was a Kremlin puppet. But then again, he is weak against Putin. I mean, it is absolutely ridiculous. I would have to think that if I am Putin and the Kremlin, I am grinning ear to ear knowing I got a weak president of the US, playing him like a fiddle. I don't think Biden or Obama would have been this weak, and the right was complaining that Obama in particular was making the US weaker! Now what do you say to that?

An important principle of gaslighting is to say outrage things as if they are obviously true. Extra points for adding, "you know it's true" when there's no excuse for anyone not knowing it's false.

It's considered emotional abuse.

We are all now in an abusive relationship between us and the regime. It's using a variety of tools to confuse and recruit. I don't believe that gaslighting can accomplish all that the many tried and true propaganda techniques can, but it is a weapon in the regime's arsenal.

DARVO (an acronym for "deny, attack, and reverse victim & offender" ) is a reaction that perpetrators of wrongdoing, such as sexual offenders, may display in response to being held accountable for their behavior.[1] Some researchers indicate that it is a common manipulation strategy of psychological abusers

that's at the core of the Maga/Putin playbook.

much less the will to end it........Putin would cream him if he did.
The only reason it didn't start until 2022 was Putin had it planned for sooner, when Trump was re-elected, but Biden got in the way.

I feel that NONE of this entire catastrophe would have happened if Hillary had won in 2016..............Putin was scared as hell of her...

Donald Trump, the man who thinks he alone can solve every problem with some half-baked "deal," has now come out blaming Ukraine for a war that Russia started. Yeah, you heard that right. The guy who spent his presidency kissing Putin’s ass now wants to lecture Zelensky on how he should have "never started" the war—like Ukraine just asked to be invaded by a genocidal dictatorship.

Russia launched this war in 2022, not Ukraine. Putin massed troops on the border, rolled tanks in, and started slaughtering civilians because he couldn’t stand the idea of Ukraine having its own sovereignty, its own democracy, and its own fucking right to exist. And now Trump, sitting in his Mar-a-Lago fantasyland, thinks the solution was for Ukraine to just give up and let Russia take whatever it wanted.

Trump claims he could’ve "made a deal" where Ukraine got to keep "almost all of their land"—as if Russia has any right to be in Ukraine in the first place. And as if giving up any land is some minor inconvenience rather than an outright betrayal of democracy and national sovereignty. It’s not a fucking real estate negotiation, it’s a war for survival.

Then there’s the kicker—Trump whining that Zelensky let the war go on for "three years." Yeah, no shit, because Ukraine is fighting for its survival. Because unlike Trump, who bends over for dictators, Ukraine actually believes in something worth defending.

Trump’s whole take is as dumb as it is dangerous. He’s not talking about peace—he’s talking about surrender. And let’s be clear: Russia deserves no concessions. Not a single inch of land, not a single compromise, nothing.

Ukraine shouldn’t "make a deal" with Russia that costs them even a square inch of their country. No compromises, no surrender, no bullshit. This isn’t about playing nice with some two-bit dictator. This is about democracy versus tyranny, and there’s no middle ground there.

Russia doesn’t get rewarded for invading. It doesn’t get land, it doesn’t get influence, it doesn’t get shit. It gets out—or it gets crushed. That’s the only deal worth considering.

And Trump, sitting on the sidelines, playing wannabe peacemaker by throwing Ukraine under the bus, can fuck right off. Zelensky and the Ukrainian people are in this fight because they understand something Trump never will—freedom isn’t given, it’s fought for. And if that means fighting to the last breath to keep Ukraine whole, then that’s exactly what they should do.

So here’s the real message: Fuck Russia. Fuck Putin. And fuck Trump’s spineless, dictator-loving bullshit. Ukraine doesn’t need a deal. It needs to win.

Both Georgia and Ukraine wanted to be in NATO but both were denied in order to appease Russia - yet both were still attacked, while the countries that did get into NATO (most above Russia's objections) have never been attacked. IOW, NATO works as intended.

The west was far too soft on Russia when it lost the cold war - that's the lesson of the past 33 years. Losers should never dictate the terms, and that's just what we allowed Russia and Putin to do.

guarantors of Ukraine's security and sovereignty. They guaranteed Ukraine's sovereignty and security when they signed the Budapest Memorandum. These countries are: The United States, Great Briton and Russia. Russia has broken the guarantee with the illegal invasion of Ukraine and it appears as though the United States is ready to break its' guarantee. Why would any ally ever trust either party again? This might very well split our alliances.

Another point that I do not see discussed anywhere:

In 1932-33, Russia starved to death (genocided) millions of Ukrainians in the Holodomor. The Holodomor took place primarily in the Donbas region of Ukraine. This is one area of Ukraine Russia presently illegally occupies.

In 1944, the Russians genocided the Crimean Tatars in Crimea. Crimea is also presently illegally occupied by Russia.

When Russia had those areas depopulated of the native population, they then settled those areas with ethnic Russians. In my opinion, giving Russia any or all of those areas is an endorsement of genocide. Why? because throughout Russian history, it never mattered if the government of Russia was Czarist, Soviet or as is today, federated. Russia has always looked upon brutal occupation and depopulation as a means to expand their imperialist ambitions. Just look at the way they have conducted the war against Ukraine, with the hollow, bombed-out, apocalyptic looking cities and towns. Putin then went on to have illegal annexation ceremonies in Russia to somehow try and convince the world that those areas are now part of Russia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident

The Gleiwitz incident (German: Überfall auf den Sender Gleiwitz; Polish: Prowokacja gliwicka) was a false flag attack on the radio station Sender Gleiwitz in Gleiwitz (then Germany and now Gliwice, Poland) staged by Nazi Germany on the night of 31 August 1939. Along with some two dozen similar incidents, the attack was manufactured by Germany as a casus belli to justify the invasion of Poland. Prior to the invasion, Adolf Hitler gave a radio address condemning the acts and announcing German plans to attack Poland, which began the next morning.[1] Despite the German government using the attack as a justification to go to war with Poland, the Gleiwitz assailants were not Polish but were German SS officers wearing Polish uniforms.

During his declaration of war, Hitler did not mention the Gleiwitz incident but grouped all provocations staged by the SS as an alleged "Polish assault" on Germany. The Gleiwitz incident is the best-known action of Operation Himmler, a series of special operations undertaken by the Schutzstaffel (SS) to serve German propaganda at the outbreak of war. The operation was intended to create the appearance of a Polish aggression against Germany to justify the invasion of Poland. On September 3, Britain and France declared war on Germany, and the European theatre of World War II had begun. Manufactured evidence for the Gleiwitz attack by the SS was provided by the undercover German SS officer Alfred Naujocks in 1945.
