(4,451 posts)and her presentation is slick as hell! If she gets name recognition, I may go deeper, but for now my only opinion is, 'I'll need to look into her further.'
Off-topic, I wish we had today's recording equipment back in the 80s. What took a week in AV Club to splice can be done in three or four keystrokes these days. Thinking about though, maybe I'm happier we didn't have the instant studio-just-add-iphone back in the day... not sure adult me would be able to live down some of the 20-something me things I did.

(382 posts)Kats grandmother was such a big shot in Texas Republicans politics they flew the flag half mast at the capital when she passed.
. Her father is Palestinian American.
She deconstructs Fox News as good as anyone.

(108,924 posts)having credible credentials to do what she does. Not just self-proclaim herself (like all the millions of others on YOUTUBE) as an "Influencer," put up a banner and get ad-sponsors to justify her presence online.
There are those online who are credible and those who are not. Self-proclaiming yourself to be an "Influencer" simply blends the grifters with any who are not and most of us really should be appalled at this trend.
So, as far as I am concerned, if the first thing you post or that comes out of your mouth is that you self-identify as an "Influencer," sans any description of what makes you credible, then all the contempt I can muster is fully deserved.
YMMV. But my contempt is very much earned by this trend. She will need more than "influencer-loving" Gen-Z voters to win the office she seeks. So, my message is one she should hear and take to heart.

we all hate commercials, but somehow INFLUENCERS are popular - WTF
From what I've read about her, it sounds like she'd make a good Dem Congressperson.
(But why did you use the word "influencer" in title of OP?)

(38,773 posts)Kat Abu is not a damned "influencer". She is a reporter who worked for years for Media Matters for America, covering the insanity of Fox News. After layoffs there she went independent. Her reporting is smart, well-informed and righteous as hell.
