The Atlantic Publishes War Plans Discussed In Signal Group Chat

Source: Huff Post

Mar 26, 2025, 08:40 AM EDT

The Atlantic on Wednesday published the war plans shared in the Signal group chat that the magazine’s editor-in-chief was inadvertently invited to join earlier this month.

Jeffrey Goldberg had previously withheld sharing some of those messages concerning planned military strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen over concerns that their content was too sensitive.

The Atlantic claimed the repeated assertions of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that no war plans were discussed in the text thread coupled with the congressional testimony of CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard that no classified information was included in the chat were among the factors contributing to their decision.

“The statements by Hegseth, Gabbard, Ratcliffe, and [President Donald] Trump—combined with the assertions made by numerous administration officials that we are lying about the content of the Signal texts—have led us to believe that people should see the texts in order to reach their own conclusions,” the article states.

I’m guessing there was still some clearance given to The Atlantic and that Goldberg has the goods.

Because there is no discussion on FReak site Latest Posts Page.

Silence on the topic there means they are very afraid it is real, and ... they have not heard the latest party line on how to deal with developments: committee hearings, Waltz' confession and "apology", Atlantic interview, latest Atlantic transcripts.

tRump condemned Goldberg yestereday. Usually when he does something like that, they are busy inventing variations on that, embellishing or imagining dirt, etc. Today? Silence, at least when I looked a few minutes ago. Such a big ongoing unfolding story and nothing.

Did he hack in?
How do we know it’s real? 🙄 an old standard for everything
Trump says it’s because he’s had two perfect months so they THEY are out to get him.
Hawley - leftist media griping
Leavitt - the American people should be grateful

Etc.

Any “mistake” no matter how distanced from Trump it is was not a mistake. Since the universe revolves around him anything in any way negative didn’t happen. He has to support it or it makes him look bad because obviously everything revolves around him.

Now in the real world there would be a high level ass chewing at least but the Clustertrump is already riddled with leaks so if that happened we’d hear about it somehow.

Of course the plans were classified, but the administration painted themselves into a corner with their testimony.

It's gonna be tough to go after him now, but watch them try anyway. Suddenly every one of them will twist themselves into legal knots to justify taking The Atlantic down.

OPSEC is Operational Security. It means nobody knows outside of those few who need to know.

They are incompetent rich twits.

Hearings in both Houses and the message will be the use of Signal is an attempt to cover up misdeeds and possible crimes in the Administration. A cancer on the Presidency is growing. Propose Impeachment of multiple cabinet members. None of this will happen but it’s a start.

Is it not obvious by now "special prosecutor" is another way of saying "coverup" "incident management" or if it didn't happen "creating the narrative?"

it should stay classified. If it were football plays, the coach would have to change tactics. Along with action plans, this breach probably describes troop location and strength, weapons locations, and how information is gathered.

I imagine real military people created the plans and the alcoholic criminals just shared it because, cool bro.
