The State Department on Friday formally notified Congress it is effectively dissolving the US Agency for International Development and moving some of its functions under the department.
...................

The shuttering of an agency established by Congress without the legislative branch weighing in is expected to draw legal challenges.
....................

In its first weeks in office, the Trump administration moved to dismantle USAID and freeze almost all foreign assistance, pending a review of those programs. Since then, thousands of USAID employees have been fired or put on leave and billions of dollars in aid contracts have been canceled. Less than 900 USAID employees remained on the job as of last week, according to another notice from the agency to Congress.

The slashing of the agency brought lawsuits from aid groups and USAID employees, some of whom described harrowing journeys home from overseas for which they weren’t reimbursed.

Later on Friday, a federal appeals court greenlit, for now, the Trump administration’s dismantling of the agency.

Three judges on the 4th US Circuit Court of Appeals were unanimous in the decision, which notes that the courts could ultimately decide to reverse the agency’s unwinding but won’t at this time. ............................................

potential dead and dying without the safety nets? Project how many terrorists will be born into poverty and strife? Consider when and how China will step in to become the humanitarian benefactor? Think about how the increase in refugees might affect our allies and our country? Analyze how diseases could spread thoughout the world otherwise?

We know that suffering just increases the happiness of malignant sociopaths such as potus, is congressional gop the same way? how about major media. Are there MSM articles or programs discussing the effects in depth? Just how many narcissists are out there??

That is if one choice is easily reversed, but the other choice is hard to reverse, then go with the choice that is easily reversed.

Meaning, in this case, I would think, keep the status quo. You can always dismantle it later. Whereas, dismantling USAid and trying to rebuild it later would be far more difficult and expensive and harmful.

I know another factor is what the court think is the likely ultimate legal outcome, but it seems that unless there's really no question, they should have kept things in place.

Then again, less and less in government is functioning as it should under Donnie....
