Elizabeth Warren Is The Latest High-Profile Democrat To Rally In GOP Territory

Source: Huff Post

WASHINGTON ― Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is headed to Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend for a town hall focused on protecting Medicaid, joining other prominent Democrats fanning out in Republican-held districts across the country to protest the GOP’s legislative plans.

Warren will join the Tennessee Democratic Party, which is hosting the town hall on Saturday, to “fight back against Republicans’ dangerous agenda to put billionaires over working people’s health care,” per an invitation obtained exclusively by HuffPost.

“While Elon Musk wields a chainsaw in Washington and a Republican-controlled Congress prepares to give tax breaks for billionaires, a town hall gives people the chance to come together, share their stories, and voice their concerns,” Warren said in a statement. “Cutting health care for new mothers on Medicaid and threatening Social Security benefits while funding tax cuts for the rich is recipe for disaster. The people of Tennessee deserve to be heard in this powerfully important moment,” she added.

The event is also aimed at putting some pressure on far-right Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), whose district lies just outside Nashville. Ogles has refused to hold town halls and recently introduced a far-fetched amendment to the Constitution that would allow President Donald Trump to seek a third term in office.

Getting the Democratic message out, in public forums, instead of ones still trying to play footsies with the facists. Thinking they can get the magats to agree to throw them a morsel by handing over 99 percent of the cake. Newsflash the magats want 100 percent of the cake and they will not share diddly squat with anyone no matter how much one grovels and despite their promises.

My Senator going to rally in a deep red state does carry the star power of some others. Perhaps the reason people say that no one is doing anything… is because they only see the stars and not the ones that are actually walking into the lions den.

Some have been accused of going to a rich persons ‘wine cave’ to speak to the Oligarchs. This is deep red Tennessee that Senator Warren is speaking at and that is where it might just make a difference.

Thanks for posting, BRDS. I love my Senator.

It was a stop in a small campaign office when she ran in the presidential primary. 🤩 I watched her come through the parking lot where faux snooze shoved a mic in her face. 🙄

She is a powerhouse, that’s for sure!

Good Senators and our first woman as Governor. My rep, I had my reservations at first, however he has done a fine job.

One big thing that made a difference here in PA with our last special election in RED Lancaster County (with the Amish) was that the northern 'burbs of Lancaster City (the city being blue-ish) voted to flip a +15 R state Senate seat that had been occupied by a complete LOON (who left to go work for newly-elected U.S. Senator McCormick), and hadn't had a Democrat in that seat in over a century! And the city itself isn't even in that State Senate district so it was all 'burb vote.

I’ll be at Centennial Park for the Hands Off Rally, then if timing allows, would love to celebrate her coming to Tennessee. It’s literally exhausting being a lefty in a state that has implemented Project 2025 statewide already.

It's sad that some others want to use this moment to try to take a personal dig at other politicians doing similar rallies. It really doesn't matter where these are held because it's making enough noise to be noticed by many people on the other side of the country. It's succeeding in uplifting people's spirits & motivating people to rise up against this corrupt administration.
