'Dealmaker' Trump Frustrated By Inability to Strike Deals

Source: Daily Beast

Published May 10 2025 6:17PM EDT

President Donald Trump, who publicly touts himself as a “dealmaker-in-chief,” is privately upset at his failure to strike deals that will end the two wars he has sought to end, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. At a closed-door meeting with top donors at Mar-a-Lago last week, Trump admitted that the frustration he feels from his inability to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine keeps him up at night, people in the room told the WSJ.

He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin, who Trump has frequently claimed is negotiating in good faith, has been driving an especially hard bargain. Putin wants “the whole thing,” Trump said, referring to Ukraine. The president also told the audience that bringing the war in Gaza to an end was tough, he had found, because “they’d been fighting for a thousand years,” the Journal reported.

Trump has marketed himself as a wily negotiator since long before he entered the political arena. During his first life as a real estate developer, Trump’s profile was elevated by the 1987 release of a best-selling book that shared his business strategy: The Art of the Deal.

The posturing hasn’t translated into concrete success during his second term in office. Despite vowing to bring a quick end to the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, the president has yet to deliver on either promise. “Bluster and theatrics have their role in diplomatic high-wire acts, but so do details and hard work,” Dan Baer, a former ambassador in Barack Obama‘s administration, told the Journal.

Strange that a war criminal like Putin didn't "stop" Russia's "war crimes" in Ukraine when the senile, old rotting Pumpkin Head asked the Russian Dictator to "stop." Sorry, no "Peace Prize" for you, Two Dolls! Say, maybe if you would "sign" an "Executive Order" commanding Netanyahu to leave Gaza everyhing would be alright and Israel would pay "war reparations" to the people of Gaza injured by the Israeli aggression? Hmm, maybe the first step would be to stop the insane "trade wars" which you alone started, huh, Turd? It is "frustrating" being a fucking moron, isn't it, Turd?

What fools voted for this inveterate liar?

Putin wants “the whole thing,” according to the stable genius. No kidding. Putin is an authoritarian dictator who wants to rebuild Russia into a dominant world power. But this great dealmaker can’t get Putin to pull back. One question for Trump: what leverage do you have to influence Putin? As his sycophant, you’ve already acquiesced to his goals.

Regarding the tragedies in Gaza, the Commander in Cheetos observed that the region’s peoples had been “fighting for a thousand years.” Trump has such a firm grip of the obvious! Not to worry, though, because he will develop the Gaza seafront into luxury apartments, casinos and golf courses where he has already declared himself club champions.

How can so many Americans not see this guy for what he has always been?

7. He's not a deal maker!

He yells loudly, makes a scene, tries to bully and intimidates those that are weaker and calls it a deal when they agree to acquiesce.
A deal maker negotiates on an adult level, accepts terms and keeps their word and keeps promises that were made prior to their presence.
He is incapable of ever being a deal maker.
HE CHEATS AT GOLF! He's a f.cking baby.

Chump doesn't know how to make deals, in the sense that it's a win for both parties. All he knows is twisting people's arms, throwing temper tantrums, and sometimes even blackmailing them in order to get his own way. The only "win" he cares about is his own, and that's why he's terrible at making deals.

And yet they feed his coffers and his ego because they're afraid he'll wish them into the cornfields. Cowards, everyone of them. I hope the other country's don't "negotiate" he can't be trusted. Just ask his previous administration and any contractor he swindled. He has no honor, no morality, no depth.

Trump's deals on withdrawal from Afghanistan and the trade agreement with the US, Canada, and Mexico were so bad that the first thing Trump wanted to renegotiate was that trade agreement. Then he pulled out of the agreement prohibiting Iran from building a nuclear weapon, which Trump mysteriously cancelled. His track record on deals sucks big time so why would anybody exect things to be different this time around. I'm waiting.
