President Donald Trump was confronted aboard Air Force One by New York Times White House reporter Jonathan Swan over a $2 billion foreign deal thats being paid for with Trump crypto.
Trump is currently on a four-day swing through the Persian Gulf region with stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, which has been dogged by the controversy over his eager acceptance of a $400 million flying palace from Qatar to serve as Air Force One.
The trip has also drawn attention to Trumps family businesses, including the cryptocurrency firm World Liberty Financial. That companys USD1 currency was selected by state-owned UAE firm MGX to pay for a $2 billion investment in Binance earlier this month. The deal was announced by WLF co-founder Zach Witkoff, son of Trump Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff.
During a press gaggle aboard Air Force One en route to Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday, Swan asked Trump about the deal. The president claimed not to know about it, but declared himself a crypto fan:
JONATHAN SWAN: Mr. President, an Emirati government-backed firm did a $2 billion deal.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: What?
JONATHAN SWAN: An Emirati government-backed firm did a $2 billion deal using the Trump digital coins. How did that deal come about?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I dont know anything about it. I really dont know anything about it. But Im a big crypto fan, I will tell you. Ive been that from the beginning, right from the campaign. Im a believer in crypto.

They don't even have to hide the rank criminality any more. It's all out in the open.

because the have the U.S. Senate and U.S House, as well as the U. S. SUPREME COURT, in their front pockets, so they can stuff their back pockets and cry all the way to the bank......(or more likely their secret off shore accounts)

(30,345 posts)After all the Goddamned FAVORS that rag has done on his behalf, particularly during the last campaign? Hey, trump's a moron without a doubt---but he recognizes good help when he sees it. And that's what the once-proud NY Times has devolved into: Good help for trump.
Don't get me started...

What bothered me, was that for a month before the election, they were already saying any crap that came to their minds.
I thought......don't you usually wait until after the election so you won't lose votes/?????????
Then I thought; It sounds like the are indirectly signaling that the election is fixed.......

(1,383 posts)The USD1 crypto was just created out of thin air. They simply proclaimed they owned billions of them and they're all worth exactly a dollar. Poof! So they were essentially just given this $2 billion investment for free. The only thing that gives the new owners of these USD1 anything in return is that the crypto can be theoretically traded again in turn.

All he knows is that its money. Thats it.
Same can be said about tariffs; taxes or any host of matters related to finance.
He hasnt a fucking clue; yet pretends to be the smartest man in the room on the topic.
Fuck this guy!

But, it is true that "he" is a big crypto fan.
Every billionaire loves money that simply appears out of thin air (or, in this case, out of a computer program's imagination).
Still, as you know, money doesn't grow on trees..
