Bellevue man charged with attempted murder after putting ICE agent in chokehold, feds say

A 30-year-old Bellevue man accused of entering the United States illegally now faces a charge of attempted murder of a federal officer after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent accused him of using a chokehold on another agent Wednesday, according to court documents.

Gabriel Hurtado-Cariaco, originally from Venezuela, was arrested that night and is in Douglas County jail, jail records show. Along with the charge of attempted murder, he is charged with assault of a federal officer with infliction of bodily injury.

A special agent with Homeland Security Investigations stated in court documents that he witnessed Hurtado-Cariaco fight another homeland security agent and an FBI agent as they attempted to arrest him at an apartment complex at 2403 Lillian St. in Bellevue.

The agent who witnessed the incident and signed the criminal complaint, Craig A. Allrich, said ICE agents had a "warrant of arrest of alien" for Hurtado-Cariaco. Allrich also claimed Hurtado-Cariaco is associated with the gang Tren de Aragua and cited a tattoo on his forearm depicting a clock with an "all seeing eye."

Or was it one of those no-badge, no-name, no-face thugs?

It makes a big difference, imo. The latter would be self-defense.

that they don’t seem to be too concerned about safety by letting his name out there. I am convinced it is the Eric Prince mercenaries names they don’t want out there.

Honestly, if two unidentified masked men in plain clothes grabbed me and tried to put me in their vehicle I would fight like hell, too.

There is a history of serial killers and rapists using police flashers to pull over victims. Now I bet there are criminals masking up and claiming to be ICE so they can victimize immigrant families. There is a reason police wear readily identifiable uniforms complete with badge numbers and name tags.

Does it, it is attempted murder also? They have asserted for years it's just a restraint.

(As a Police Officer) ..."Glenna, some of these Officers can get in a horrible, crappy mood..and you don't want..
..to even put your hand on their arm or even less and they will take ALL their anger on you!" We don't condone that stuff..

There's not an officer in any significant department who hasn't seen another officer do something they shouldn't, and then walked away and said nothing. That is condoning, at the very least.
