The Gates Foundation said it will commit $1.6 billion over the next five years to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, after the U.S. announced it would no longer contribute to the global health partnership.
Gavi helps provide vaccines to some of the worlds poorest children. Since its launch in 2000, the alliance says it has supported the immunization of more than 1.1 billion children across 78 countries, helping prevent an estimated 19 million deaths.
"I dont know of anything with a higher impact per dollar in terms of saving and improving lives," Gates said. "Gavi is one of the best investments Ive ever madeand one of the best investments countries can make today in the worlds future."
The Gates Foundation is Gavis largest private donor, having contributed $7.7 billion over the past 25 years. Before the recent U.S. government funding cuts, the United States was Gavis second-largest government donor, behind the United Kingdom.

Since all of these "cuts" are to give tax breaks to people like Gates, then they will have to step up and make up for that lost funding. Thankfully he is doing that. Selfish pricks like Muskrat Bozos apparently don't feel the need.

I just hope that someone is keeping track of all of the ways tRUMP world is cutting services, etc. to the many programs that the US has funded over the years and has saved so many already. AND I know why tRUMP is cutting these programs...he's prep'ing for the day he can pass a new tax cut bill, as though we really need a new one?!
Keeping track will enable us to do a better restoration of these beneficial programs, to enact legislation that will restore them, and keep them going regardless of future idiot presidents or Congresses.
And I thought that Americans were known as one of the most charitable people on Earth? I can't believe that a tiny minority is determining what should be donated to/supported/etc. by the likes of such a hateful, spiteful, despicable human being that djt truly is, especially when such a huge majority of people (at least those around me) do support putting food on the table for those in need, and extending a hand out to help these people.
