Trump administration finds Harvard failed to protect Jewish students, threatens to cut all funding

WASHINGTON (AP) — Harvard University failed to protect Jewish students from harassment, the Trump administration concluded after an investigation, threatening to cut all federal funding from the Ivy League school if it fails to take action.

In a letter sent to Harvard on Monday, a federal task force accuses the university of being a “willful participant” in antisemitic harassment of Jewish students and faculty. It threatens to refer the case to the Justice Department “as soon as possible” unless Harvard comes into compliance.

The finding allows the Trump administration to target a wider pool of Harvard’s federal funding. Already the government has slashed more than $2.6 billion in research grants, but a civil rights violation could jeopardize Harvard’s eligibility to accept federal student aid — meaning students would not be able to use federal loans or grants to attend the university.

“Failure to institute adequate changes immediately will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and continue to affect Harvard’s relationship with the federal government,” officials said in the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press and first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

I suppose this is supposed to distract the distractable media away from reporting on the disastrous big ugly bill.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Harvard University failed to protect Jewish students from harassment, the Trump administration concluded after an investigation, threatening to cut all federal funding from the Ivy League school if it fails to take action.

A federal task force sent a letter to Harvard on Monday finding the university violated civil rights laws requiring colleges to protect students from discrimination based on race or national origin. It says investigators found Harvard was at times a “willful participant in anti-Semitic harassment of Jewish students, faculty, and staff” and that campus leaders allowed antisemitism to fester on the campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

“Failure to institute adequate changes immediately will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and continue to affect Harvard’s relationship with the federal government,” officials said in the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press and first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Harvard did not immediately comment.

Please in Oct. of 2018 came to Lebanon, Ohio (home of the Klan in Ohio) and
blamed “International Financial Elites” aka the Jews for a caravan of Hispanic
Migrants coming to the U.S./Mexico border and shortly thereafter a Trump supporter
attacked a Jewish Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, PA. He also praised Gen. Robert E
Lee in the same speech.

Call out Trump's history and hypocrisy in his actions. You can't have it both ways.

Was "it" chanting "globalize the intifada" as it hurled anti-semitic slurs at innocent Jewish students just wanting to get an education and go to the library? Perhaps it called to account (gasp, what were they thinking!!) provocateurs and those harassing, threatening and doxxing the protesters? Perhaps it tried to treat both sides equitably and fairly - which may be its greatest crime of all?

Impunity and special priviledges for one side and silencing, criminalization and deportation for the other. That glaring injustice is being used by actual anti-semites to fuel the fire they want to ignite.

Talks between a very small circle of Harvard leadership and the White House are ongoing, and a source familiar with those discussions cautioned that a final agreement has not been reached.

Which suggests that someone "changed the deal" and Harvard must have balked, and that set off the latest ridiculous temper tantrum.

We can't go through the next 4 years of fucking temper tantrums every other day.
