Trump Admin to Incinerate 500 Tons of Emergency Food Meant for Children

The Trump administration has ordered 500 metric tons of emergency food aid—enough to feed 1.5 million malnourished children for a week—to be incinerated tomorrow rather than be distributed as part of its ongoing purge of USAID. The high-energy biscuits, intended for children under five living in war and disaster zones, are currently being stored in a warehouse in Dubai and were meant to be shipped out this year, but will instead go to waste due to cuts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) effectively halting nearly all forms of foreign aid. Current and former aid workers, speaking anonymously for fear of retaliation, told The Atlantic that the sheer scale of waste is unprecedented. Despite repeated assurances from the administration not to eliminate food aid, U.S. warehouses around the world currently house 60,000 tons of food, including peas and cereal originally bound for famine-stricken Sudan, which the administration is now unable to deliver even if it wanted to after gutting USAID and firing logistical experts. According to The Atlantic, the amount of food set to be incinerated tomorrow would be enough to feed every single child currently starving in Gaza.

I know it raises in me the overwhelming desire to do something shocking and drastic to draw attention, if not rid the world of the root problem sitting fat and sassy with his Kentucky Fried Chicken. Knowing there's nothing I can do to effect the situation is infuriating beyond the limits of my BP, no matter how many pills I take. THIS is a crime against humanity, and he MUST be held accountable by the Hague. How in the hell does that work, anyway? How can we get the Hague to take notice and act, if no one else? It's obvious we've become the third world shithole he's always screaming about in relation to Africa. Is there no nation that will help the majority of us who hate, detest, and want to see this monster gone?

My brother had a stroke, then followed with a second one, which was more debilitating. From my observation, recovery is a significant amount of time and requires discipline and commitment.

Nothing would be better than to have TSF unable to speak and only moving with assistance.

Destroying enough food to feed every starving kid in Gaza. Only an insane sadist would do that. Just peas and cereal, and the Big Mac gobbling goon can't even let them have that.

since I'm sure many countries and aid groups would gladly arrange to come pick it up at no cost to the US taxpayer. The UN would take it. Red Crescent would take it.

MAGA would rather burn it out of spite.

But since Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency disbanded USAID and the State Department subsumed the agency, no money or aid items can move without the approval of the new heads of American foreign assistance, several current and former USAID employees told me. From January to mid-April, the responsibility rested with Pete Marocco, who worked across multiple agencies during the first Trump administration; then it passed to Jeremy Lewin, a law-school graduate in his 20s who was originally installed by DOGE and now has appointments at both USAID and State. Two of the USAID employees told me that staffers who sent the memos requesting approval to move the food never got a response and did not know whether Marocco or Lewin ever received them. (The State Department did not answer my questions about why the food was never distributed.)

In May, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told representatives on the House Appropriations Committee that he would ensure that food aid would reach its intended recipients before spoiling. But by then, the order to incinerate the biscuits (which I later reviewed) had already been sent. Rubio has insisted that the administration embraces America’s responsibility to continue saving foreign lives, including through food aid. But in April, according to NPR, the U.S. government eliminated all humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and Yemen, where, the State Department said at the time, providing food risks benefiting terrorists. (The State Department has offered no similar justification for pulling aid to Pakistan.) Even if the administration was unwilling to send the biscuits to the originally intended countries, other places—Sudan, say, where war is fueling the world’s worst famine in decades—could have benefited.

especially with food prices rising.

If the WH fascist doesn't care about people in other countries, he should at least look after our own. But that would interfere with the false image he tries to create of America getting better and better with him running the show.
