Hunter Biden says Democrats lost 2024 election because they weren't loyal to his father

Source: Yahoo! News

Hunter Biden, son of former president Joe Biden, attributed the Democrats’ 2024 election loss to the fact that they abandoned his father as the party's leader.

Speaking for the first time since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, Hunter Biden offered his perspective on the election during a new podcast, At Our Table, hosted by former Democratic National Committee chairman Jaime Harrison.

“We lost the last election because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party,” Hunter Biden said.

He pulled your ass out of the fire on more than one occasion. Don’t drag out the past, work to make sure your Dads future is the most comfortable and happy as possible. Let it go.

He will be the family patriarch. He knows this, and he makes his comments knowing full well the support he got from his father.

He's right to have made those statements. And they are probably closer to the truth than any of the bullshit "why the Dems lost"
analysis.

The Dems panicked, then they held Kamala back after they ousted Joe.

They are clinging to their flat-footed establishment ways.

Don't scold Hunter. He is stepping up and had every right to slam the party.

...he will be wandering around doing stuff like this to make a living. Would hope that someone close to his father would take him on staff and use him for his business and political acumen rather than his name. Maybe a role for him in the Governors office in CA.

She and Joe are close and she would be aware of his skillset. It'd be in CA so the media exposure of him wouldn't be viewed so cynically by voters.

Newsom is moving up and rightfully might not want the exposure, but who knows, sometimes pushing a negative hard enough turns it into a positive. Hunter deserves sympathy and forgiveness for what he endured. Maybe Newsom would recognize that and provide him with a redemption arc and shot at a productive political life. When a person is genuinely good--despite the media narrative to the contrary--sometimes voters reward that loyalty and honesty.

Even among democrats in California. That’s just the reality of it. Besides, Hunter brings nothing to the table.

Harris, if she decides to run for governor, will likely face a competitive primary. I’ve already seen one of the potential opponents start taking shots of Harris “covering up” for Joe’s decline. Remember, this is among democrats — in California. Harris is smarter than that, and I think she understands this time she’ll have to find a better way of defending their administration’s policy accomplishments while making it clear she warned everyone about Trump earlier, and she knows how to take him on. Hunter Biden will definitely not make that sell any easier.

It might only be $150k-$250k to keep him on yearly. Plenty of non-profits, NGOs, and charities pay that sort of salary. It's pretty standard practice to get a politician's child on at those institutions. It helps steer funds.

He also has degrees from Georgetown and Yale. He is an asset--not an idiot.

And btw, we capitalize the word "Democrats"--especially here. It's a proper noun.

Looks like he made a little over a million on the paintings, but he also has some expenses and unpaid legal fees.

So I dunno, his burn rate is pretty high and needs to decrease.

The classic play on this sort of thing is to give the kid a job. NGO, charity, campaign, whatever. Maybe something at the Biden Presidential Library. Keeps them busy and out of trouble and no one feels obligated to give them cash because they have plenty coming in. It just solves a lot of problems.

He is acting out like this because he's out of options. Someone needs to step in and help by helping him work and stay busy.

He does have a point ya'll. Ditching a SITTING POTUS 2.5 months before an election is political suicide. Harris never really had a chance. PLUS, ditching the sitting POTUS while talking about how old and senile he is only served the GOPs electoral chances. How did anyone think doing that was going to HELP other Dems and Harris? It just madness and stupidity. Raving about what a horrible performance Biden had in the debate.....you can't debate a lunatic like Dump who just gets up there and makes shit up and lies. I thought Biden obviously WON the debate even if his age was painfully obvious. You can't debate someone who's just going to lie about everything. Typical dems and the circular firing squad.

Let's move on.

This is not at all helpful! If you would have kept your shit together, your father would have had a much easier time of it during his presidency, and not pre-occupied with keeping you out of prison.

I disagreed with the people trying to push Joe out last year. He had one bad night at the debate, on cold medicine, and we shoved him out because certain Democratic leaders thought that a competition to replace him would benefit the party. Bad idea all around, I think.

But in my opinion Hunter has been a millstone around his father's neck for years; he shouldn't be blaming other people.

Normal families all over the country face making decisions affecting their parents. In our family, it included moving to assisted living, arranging the testing that took their car keys, and deciding when to stop painful rehab and enter hospice. It's what you have to do when you genuinely love them.
