Trump vows to sue Rupert Murdoch over WSJ's Epstein birthday letter report

Source: CNN Business

Published 10:54 PM EDT, Thu July 17, 2025

CNN — President Trump is vowing to sue the Wall Street Journal and owner Rupert Murdoch over the outlet’s bombshell story detailing a 2003 birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein bearing Trump’s name and a drawing of a naked woman.

“I told Rupert Murdoch it was a Scam, that he shouldn’t print this Fake Story. But he did, and now I’m going to sue his ass off, and that of his third rate newspaper,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump has a long history of legal threats against news outlets, and doesn’t always follow through with actual lawsuits. In this case, he did not specify what exactly he’d sue the newspaper for, though his camp referenced “defamatory lies.” But the mere threat of a lawsuit opened a new chapter in the operatic relationship between Trump and Murdoch, the 93-year-old patriarch who controls the Journal, Fox News and other conservative media brands.

A spokesperson for the Journal declined to comment on Trump’s threat or on the assertion that he directly spoke with Murdoch before publication.

All of this stuff about Trump has been known for years. The stories of underage women, studio 54 w/
the cocaine and sex parties, Epstein, walking in on teen beauty contestants when they were naked,
saying his own daughter was a hot piece of ass, his connections to organized crime, to having call
girls working @ his casinos, and so on are old news. Why now? They got their tax breaks, regulations
have been gutted, and benefits to the rich and fossil fuel industries and so it is good bye Donny time.
He has served his purpose.

And the T.P.T.B./tech- crypto boys now have a shiny new judicial & electoral system to keep them
in power too.

Those guys didn't get that rich by not seeing where things were going and when a course correction was gonna be required.

To quote Barron: 'It's on' but maybe not as the newest Trump spawn thinks. Or maybe number 3 son is not as fond of daddy weirdest as the Big Buffoona would like to believe.

It would take until next year to get a trial scheduled. Only then can discovery begin. The felon is using a suit to stop Murdoch and WSJ from making any further revelations.

If he sued, Wyden in Congress could subpoena US Treasury records from Bessent re the $1.1 Billion in wire transfers (names and account numbers) to and from Epstein. That right there is hard evidence that shows what he was up to. Bondi could do nothing to stop Bessent from complying with Wyden's committee.
