Trump Says He Received 'Perfect' MRI During Walter Reed Visit

Source: msn/Bloomberg

2h

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump said he got a MRI during his October visit to Walter Reed Medical Center, without sharing more details on what prompted the imaging test. “I got an MRI; it was perfect,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One Monday. “I gave you the full results.”

A one-page summary memo released by the White House earlier this month pronounced Trump in “excellent overall health” and noted his visit included “advanced imaging, laboratory testing and preventative health assessments.” However, the report from Trump’s physician, Sean Barbabella, did not detail what prompted the imaging studies. Neither did Trump.

Asked what doctors were looking for on Monday, Trump said only: “You could ask the doctors.” But, he added, “I think they gave you a very conclusive — nobody has ever given you reports like I gave you.”

Trump, 79, has been spotted with swollen ankles and a persistent bruise on his right hand, which at times appears to have been covered with makeup.

Alzheimers clearly shows up in MRIs as a build-up of plaque and a smoothness of brain tissue (amyloids). I think the question is why they did an MRI in the first case - you don't usually order MRIs unless there's a question about brain damage due to strokes, haemorrhaging or something like Alzheimer's.

I also have to wonder, if you were a physician and you diagnosed 3rd to 4th stage dementia, whether you would tell Trump the truth or not?

I am over sixty and I never have had to get an MRI, that is typically when doctors are looking for more information to find an explanation for something that they might not see with just normal lab testing.

Just having to get an MRI means that something is not "perfect" about Trump and his health

MRI of the brain and spinal cord
MRI is the most frequently used imaging test of the brain and spinal cord. It's often performed to help diagnose:
Aneurysms of cerebral vessels.
Conditions of the eye and inner ear.
Multiple sclerosis.
Spinal cord conditions.
Stroke.
Tumors.
Brain injury from trauma.
A special type of MRI is the functional MRI of the brain, also known as fMRI. It produces images of blood flow to certain areas of the brain. Functional MRI can be used to examine the brain's anatomy and show which parts of the brain are handling critical functions, language and movements. This information can help guide decisions when considering someone for brain surgery.
Functional MRI also can check for damage from a head injury or from conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.
MRI of the heart and blood vessels
MRI that focuses on the heart or blood vessels can check:
Size and function of the heart's chambers.
Thickness and movement of the walls of the heart.
Extent of damage caused by heart attacks or heart disease.
Structural problems in the aorta, such as aneurysms or dissections.
Inflammation or blockages in the blood vessels.
MRI of other internal organs
MRI can check for tumors or other irregularities in many organs in the body, including the following:
Liver and bile ducts.
Kidneys.
Spleen.
Pancreas.
Uterus.
Ovaries.
Prostate.
MRI of bones and joints
MRI can help look for:
Joint issues caused by traumatic or repetitive injuries, such as torn cartilage or ligaments.
Disk problems in the spine.
Bone infections.
Tumors of the bones and soft tissues.

Editing to add my comment: I think his was definitely the first or second category!

The docs must be concerned with the edema in his lower legs. That's usually a telltale sign of heart disease. My bet is he has congestive heart failure.

What would be interesting to know is if he's taking any meds other than what's publically known.

Mon Oct 27, 2025, 09:37 PM

I have CHF, have had three heart attacks and take Rosuvastatin as much as it leaves me feeling like crap. I also take Brilinta, which is a blood thinner (very expensive blood thinner) and beta blockers (oh, and Lasix, which drains fluid to help manage the edema and forces you to never stray far from a bathroom).

I have trouble getting out of bed many days because of the regime, and am fifteen years younger than Trump.

Another point to consider - most of the time, physicians don't use an MRI for cardiac imaging. It's usually much more efficacious to use ultrasound with special metallic dyes that are injected into the blood stream, as it gives you a much better idea about blood flows, and its easier to use. MRIs are still superior for brain scans, especially if what you're looking for is soft tissue imaging (the ultrasound doesn't show structural elements, only blood flows).

And I don't get routine MRIs.

I got an MRI when I fell and sprained my leg...I sprained the entire leg. Took a month to recover. On week 2 they took an MRI to ensure I hadn't pulled tendons and soft tissue attachments off. (All is fine now.)

But I think it was only my 2nd MRI in my life. So routine physicals don't require MRIs.

But hell we all know pedo Trump is looney-tunes. And he has congestive heart failure. OK you may not know about the heart issues but my spouse had it and the pedo is exhibiting all the symptoms.

But MRIs are frequently used for those 2 issues. Also they can find out if he had a stroke. Which would explain the one sided droop on his face.

I think his body is slowly collapsing. His brain is broken and it seems so is his heart. But he has the most expert and expensive doctors in the world so they could keep him alive for quite awhile. If this were the 1950s, he'd be dead by now.

As someone who has had to have many MRI’s it is not given routinely. It is only authorized to look for some specific issue. And almost everyone 79 will not have a “perfect “ MRI. More likely he had a scheduled imaging and lied about it as another wellness test for the second one in a year.

Since the doctors at Walter Reed tend to be civil servant MDs or military MDs, they would probably hesitate to contradict anything the President said about results. People who make him mad get hefty retaliation, not just job loss but litigation targeting their family and savings.

There's nothing routine about an MRI. You don't get one unless they're looking for something that's causing concerning symptoms. I don't remember hearing that previous presidents ever got MRIs during their regular exams.

Something is definitely wrong with him; I do hope it's nothing minor.
