Trump teaming up with Jack Nicklaus to revamp 'president's golf course' at Joint Base Andrews

Source: AP

Updated 7:18 PM EST, November 22, 2025

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says he’s enlisting the help of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus to spruce up the courses at Joint Base Andrews — adding a site long known as the “president’s golf course” to his long list of construction projects.

The president took an aerial tour of the Courses at Andrews aboard Marine One on Saturday, and promised, “We’re going to do some work” there, as well as to other parts of the base.

“We’re doing some fix-up of the base, which it needs. We’re gonna try and reinstitute the golf courses. I’m meeting with the greatest Jack Nicklaus,” Trump told reporters outside the White House before boarding Marine One to head to Andrews. “He’s involved in trying to bring their recreational facility back.”

Located in Maryland, about 15 miles (24.14 kilometers) from the White House, Andrews houses Air Force One. Gerald R. Ford was the first president to golf there in 1974, but the facility was most recently a favorite of Barack Obama. An 11th Force Support Squadron asset, the facilities include three 18-hole golf courses, three practice putting greens, two private practice areas and a driving range, according to the Andrews website. Trump said at least two of the courses could get facelifts.

spending a fortune re-doing those golf courses to his liking, so he doesn't have to drive so far, financed with TAX PAYER's dollars?????????
THEN he will figure out a way to sell the whole property to himself, with enough room for a Trump Resort/Hotel???????????

The reality is, that he is delusional about everything, but on this he is hyper delusional that he is going to live long enough to maybe even start the project.....

Besides, his acceleration of even more delusional and radical his actions, not even the Republicans will be able to allow him to continue in office much longer......the 2025 crowd, along with Stephen Miller, have much higher priorities in establishing a Dictatorship/Tyranny, than spending time and money on a frikkin' golf course.

As a kid I used to live right behind the driving range near the Virginia gate many many moons ago. We used to run around the courses at night. Even my childhood memories are being tainted by him. We have a goldfish distracted by squirrels for a president.

Every hole will have a presidential seal with his name on it, and all will be trimmed in fake Home Depot gold.

in the '60s and '70s. While I had no real interest in golf, my grandfather did, so it was nice just to watch the matches with him. Even so, I developed some respect for the big names of the day, including Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead and Lee Trevino. Nicklaus teaming up with Trump is a blot on those memories.

Many people and institutions that collaborated with Franco experienced a loss of reputation.

in a rich environment. I guess we should excuse Donald Trump too? Being an asshole is inexcusable period. And how anybody who considers them a Democrat would excuse someone who said about Donald Trump

"I have been very disappointed at what he's had to put up with from many directions, but with that, I have seen a resolve and a determination to do the right thing for our country. He has delivered on his promises. He's worked for the average person. In my opinion, he has been more diverse than any President I have seen and has tried to help people from all walks of life-equally.

I also believe that Donald Trump's policies will bring the American Dream to many families across the nation who are still trying to achieve it.

It's about patriotism, policies and the people they impact. His love for America and its citizens, and putting his country first, has come through loud and clear. What has been important are his actions. But if we want to continue to have the opportunity to pursue the American Dream, and not evolve into a socialist America and have the government run your life, then I strongly recommend you consider Donald J. Trump for another 4 years.

is mind blowing. That is the biggest load of anti Democratic bullshit I've ever seen. Only a gigantic asshole would ever write such a pile of shit. I find it disgusting that a poster on DU would defend such a horrible person.

say about the man and his family. In Columbus, Ohio he has raised and given 50 million to
Nationwide Children’s Hospital…. Another friend who is PhD in biology has been working
@ N.C.H. on treatments for desperately ill children using some of the money Jack, Barbra,
and his golf tournament have raised and or donated.

I don’t agree with Jack’s positions or what he has said but the man has done some good
things too.

Even Jeffrey Epstein is credited with donating over $30 million to charity.

You won't ever catch me saying anything good about them. Horrible people are horrible people even if they do some good things. Hitler made the trains run on time among other positive things. Despite that, he was pure fucking evil.

Jack Nicklaus may have done some good things. Despite that, he is a pure fucking asshole who does not deserve any positive words said about him for anything he ever did. Anyone who praises Donald Trump, who is also pure fucking evil, falls into the category of supporting evil. Nicklaus supports evil. He is a horrible human being.

I kid you not; it was one of the "landmarks" pointed out to me during base orientation for newcomers.
