Karoline Leavitt jokes that job in Trump's administration has left her with PTSD: 'It's very difficult'

Source: The Independent

Monday 24 November 2025 16:54 EST

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she’s developed post traumatic stress disorder while working under President Donald Trump. But the source of her distress isn’t reporters, despite their unending barrage of queries about the day’s headlines. Instead, it’s her grueling schedule, which has caused her to spend long hours away from her family, she told The Daily Mail.

“Honestly, I have PTSD about making plans, so I just don't,” the 28-year-old griped to the outlet about arranging time off with her husband, 60-year-old real estate developer Nicholas Riccio. “It's very difficult to make plans in this job.”

“My husband and I had three different mini weekend getaway vacations this summer. All three got canceled due to foreign policy events,” she said, adding, “We just roll with it. If there's a night where I happen to become free, then we take full advantage of that as a family.”

Leavitt, a New Hampshire native and Saint Anselm graduate, has rapidly climbed the ranks in Republican politics. She began her career interning at Fox News in 2016 before serving in the communications office during Trump’s first term. In January, she made history by becoming the youngest-ever White House press secretary.

The whole country has PTSD dealing with the likes of her.

But then folks might recall during the first term, when 45 ditched the "Daily White House Briefings" after the revolving door of Spicy, Huckleberry, Grisly Grisham, and McEloony, and the media had to chase the spokespeople around to get some kind of "statements" (that weren't posted on Xitter or the eventual Devin MOOnes-run LiesSocial).

Right now, it's programmed to fellate Muskrat's ego, but I'm sure it can easily be retargeted.

about when the "government" will cut off our money, our food, our lives. I've been saying for years, tho, we all need to be able to join one huge class action lawsuit against trump because of all he's put us through this decade.

class action lawsuits.......The corporations that are running this whole shit show have been trying for years to get the USSC to bet rid of class action law suits.......then no common person can single handidly afford to take on any corporation when they have a ton of corporate lawyers to bury that person in paperwork and get them to give up........

People across the US are already starting to cut back big time. Even the MAGAot voting cult members are starting to get trashed also.
As we progress through the holidays and the first of the year, I suspect it will get so much worse, the few remaining in the middle class, and the entire lower class will finally get "woke up" and scraping to get by big time.........

Red states have been trying hard to get rid of voter petitions, too. Anything that gives the people a voice is marked for destruction... courts, voter petitions, protests, anything. And yes, I agree... we better damn well hurry up and get something done before it's all down the toilet. Just getting rid of rump isn't going to accomplish anything, other than taking him out... but the corporate owners and RWNJ higher-ups are already working on that. They see how he's dragging down the poll numbers now. They're looking around, desperately trying to find someone to step into his shoes -- carry on the Project 2025 legacy and complete the demolition of this country. They can't find anyone, tho... trump is a once-in-a-lifetime aberration. Everything had to come together "just right" for him to get to where he is and do what he's done. Others won't have those lucky stars. And look at the republican lineup... from low to high, they ALL look like they're preachers with pedophilia fetishes. There isn't one I can think of off the top of my head that has any charisma at all - not even just an evil charisma. And none of them are intelligent.

... about her delivery. She speaks like she trying to convince herself, as well as the reporters, she is being truthful. It's a tone that seems strained... falsely assertive... like something is wrong. I would ask, "Is something wrong? Are you in any pain?" She speaks like she's going to blow up.

That’s what lying 24/7 will do to you. You can’t sleep at night because you KNOW what you are doing is wrong.
Your conscience must be ripped to shreds and sitting in a corner of your cold dark soul.

If you have a child, or aspirations of having one, remember that that person will be an adult some day and they will ask you how you could ever stand there at a microphone and gaslight the American people.

Wearing a gigantic cross as a shield against the pleading eyes of the American public who beg for truth and comfort while your boss rips this country apart both literally and figuratively.

If her family isn’t with her in DC, then maybe she should go back to New Hampshire to be with them. Otherwise, stop the bitching lady and get on with it.
Remember, the NG is being deployed all over the country. They all have families back home that miss them. And they are being deployed unlawfully. And they are leaving jobs behind where they are relied on. And that effects all their coworkers picking up the slack. It’s a domino effect.

PTSD my A$$.

You don't know the meaning of PTSD, ask any combat veteran, or, for that matter, any survivor of any of Epstein's unwanted sex about PTSD.
I went through years of therapy for PTSD and her claiming PTSD is an affront to my sensibilities.

Fuckin unbelievable.
