As questions swirl in the lingering Smartmatic litigation about MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell's financial condition and his ability to pay sanctions, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a win for the 2020 election conspiracy theorist, putting to rest a yearslong dispute over a $5 million "Prove Mike Wrong" award.
Among the high court's numerous denials of certiorari on Monday was Robert Zeidman v. Lindell Management, LLC, (LMC) a case the justices jettisoned without comment.
Lindell issued the "Prove Mike Wrong" challenge at a South Dakota election fraud "Cyber Symposium" in 2021, claiming that data proved China had interfered with the 2020 election. But Zeidman, a software developer who supported President Donald Trump, took on the challenge and proved Lindell wrong, an arbitration panel ruled.
While a federal district court later upheld the $5 million reward in February 2024, that ruling in Zeidman's favor was relatively short-lived.
