Two CBP Agents Identified in Alex Pretti Shooting

The two federal immigration agents who fired on Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti are identified in government records as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez.

The records viewed by ProPublica list Ochoa, 43, and Gutierrez, 35, as the shooters during the deadly encounter last weekend that left Pretti dead and ignited massive protests and calls for criminal investigations.

Both men were assigned to Operation Metro Surge, an immigration enforcement dragnet launched in December that sent scores of armed and masked agents across the city.

CBP, which employs both men, has so far refused to release their names and has disclosed few other facts about the deadly incident, which came days after a different immigration agent shot and killed another Minneapolis protester, a 37-year-old mother of three named Renee Good.

It is abhorrent that these policies from ICE and CBP and the entire Trump regime find so many supporters in these United States, but the placing of trigger-happy cowards in paramilitary garb and with a clear deficit in training and procedural or situational awareness is a criminal act unto itself.

The shooters both deserve murder charges for the 10 shots fired into a non-threatening target, but their commanders also need to be brought up on charges and that goes all the way up to the top. Noem, Miller, the little Nazi in he coat and the big Nazi with the hand deformations. They also should immediately be suspended pending trial and afterward should NEVER again be allowed to carry a weapon with state sanction for any role as long as they live (after they do their time).

Self-loathing people are always useful tools to the proponents of hateful ideologies. It is an easy button to push to make them more vicious than others to prove how they fit in despite outward appearances.

The Customs and Border Patrol is authorized to operate at the US/Mexico and US/Canada borders, at airports, and within 100 miles of a border or coastline. Minneapolis is outside their jurisdiction. So, isn't their very presence there illegal?
