Senate conservatives seek to sink government funding package in House

Source: The Hill

Senate conservatives led by Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) are working to sink the Senate-passed government funding package in the House, warning that it threatens to leave the Department of Homeland Security unfunded while doing little to rein in the growth in federal spending.

They’re demanding that full-year funding for Homeland Security be put back into the bill along with legislation to place stricter requirements on voter registration — two demands that would need to be approved by the Senate before going to President Trump for a signature.

Scott, who ran for Senate majority leader after the 2024 election, is venting frustration shared by other Senate conservatives who feel that their party’s leaders are in full retreat after the fatal shooting of two protesters in Minneapolis.

“I don’t understand why anybody would support it,” Scott told The Hill on Monday.

... the malignant spawn of an unholy union between Lurch and Uncle Fester doesn't understand why anybody would support a bill that would rein in the homicidal excesses of ICE by suspending outrageous funding increases.
I, for one, don't understand why somebody who was legally responsible for the worst Medicare fraud in history walked away not only unscathed, but considerably richer following his crimes, and then went on to get "elected" not only to the governor's mansion of Heaven's Waiting Room, but then on to the Senate! Lest we forget, Republican snakes do protect each other, don't they? Of course they do.
With malicious swine like this leading us, I despair for the future of America.

They do that, and they rip away the voting rights for millions of people, the overwhelming majority of whom are women. This has been a plan all along. They are snakes in the grass.

trump, Ice Barbie, that little chisler Kash Patel, are running thru YOUR Money like it belong to THEM!
When honest accoounting returns it's going to be 50 trillion, not 40 for the national debt.
Think about how much that Dept of War jerk has spewed away, include the 80 Billion trump gave that little schmuck in Argentina, add bonuses to the ICE thug army and all the breaks for low tax rate billionaire and how will workers like us ever pay it off?
