Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton fired off some strong-worded social media posts on Thursday, calling for her testimony before the House Oversight Committee to be public.

The former first lady and former President Bill Clinton agreed to testify later this month as part of the committee's investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The agreement comes just days before a potential vote to hold the Clintons in contempt for initially refusing to appear before the committee.

However, Hillary Clinton said on Thursday that they had been engaged with the committee in "good faith," but the goalposts kept moving in what she called "an exercise in distraction." "We told them what we know, under oath," Hillary Clinton stated on X. "They ignored all of it."

Clinton challenged Chairman James Comer to allow the country to watch their testimony live. "Let’s stop the games. If you want this fight, @RepJamesComer, let’s have it—in public," Hillary Clinton stated. "You love to talk about transparency. There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on. We will be there."

For six months, we engaged Republicans on the Oversight Committee in good faith. We told them what we know, under oath.

They ignored all of it. They moved the goalposts and turned accountability into an exercise in distraction.

When is she claiming they were "under oath" in front of the committee? That's an odd claim because it doesn't appear to be true. I know they sent the committee a statement, but they obviously haven't sat under oath in front of the committee.

On Wednesday -- in a press release from the office of the former president -- the Clintons contended they have gone "above and beyond" what others have been asked to do by the committee, providing what they describe as "comprehensive" sworn statements listing "everything they have to offer" on the topic of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

"You probably don't know this because James Comer doesn't want you to," the statement says. "President and Secretary Clinton swore to the truth under penalty of perjury. James Comer hasn't told you that and has instead resorted to lying in every appearance he's made this week."

The ex-president's office also released the written declarations -- dated Jan. 13 from each of the Clintons -- which they say were provided to the Oversight Committee.

The declarations -- containing seven bullet-pointed paragraphs each -- end with this: "I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct."

Everybody else who was subpoenaed did the same - provided sworn statements- but none as detailed as the Clintons. Nobody else was threatened with contempt charges. That's because this was clearly politically motivated from the start. Comer is a lying pile of shit.

I was stunned for days. The thought that she could lose was never even something I even thought about. It was inconceivable.

2024 was nowhere near as devestating. I understood that even a perfect candidate as good as Clinton didn’t guarantee a win. And when you add the chaos of belatedly abandoning Biden and giving Harris a very short runway, I was resigned early on.

2024 was lost when it took until Nov, 2022 to appoint a Special Prosecutor. Smith just ran out of time. Trump was always going to frustrate the process with numerous appeals and trying to lure SCOTUS into the mix. Six more months could have done wonders for Smith’s endeavor to keep Trump out of office again.

2024 was bad; 2016 was stratospherically catostrophic.

She will roast Comer. She now has an opportunity to retaliate against the decades long GOP campaign to take down the Clintons - one that failed at every turn except for the BJ incident. So no doubt Comer will bring this up in an attempt to rattle her.

BTW, for those that forgot about the BJ incidents:
Monica approached Bill and offered a BJ. That much is not in question. But one of her so called friends betrayed her, and the GOP finally thought they had something to bring down Clinton with. So they got him under oath, and asked him if he had sex with Monica.. At that time, the definition of sex was P in V, NOT oral, so Bill answered truthfully, "no". This was the incident where the GOP was splitting hairs, while Bill was seeking a legal definition of the word sex. The GOP rejoiced - they thought that had him, until they looked up the legal definition and saw it did not include a BJ. So they simply changed the definition after the fact, and now had a charge of perjury.
