Donald Trump's golf club seeks approval for 11,330-square-foot expansion, and it has little to do with golf

Source: msn

Story by Sneha Abraham • 7h

A golf club applying for a building expansion is not unusual. But when the club belongs to the sitting U.S. president, and the addition is not a fairway, the application is anything but routine.

Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., has filed an application to add an 11,330-square-foot ballroom and covered rooftop terrace to its clubhouse.

A Golfweek report published on June 24 stated that the Bedminster Township Land Use Board will discuss an application from Lamington Farm Club LLC, the company that runs Trump National Golf Club on Lamington Road, at its August 13 meeting.

................
The project must meet several requirements before it can move ahead. According to Golfweek, a review by Boswell, the township’s engineering firm, found that the proposed ballroom expansion would increase sewage flow and require approval from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

..........................

The application for the Bedminster project comes at a time when Trump’s separate ballroom project at the White House is also dealing with legal and financial issues....................

Another Trump ballroom.

Construction cannot begin until the permits are approved, and that process could take between nine and 12 months. The club will also need to build a larger sewage treatment facility near the tennis courts on its property.

26. America's Mobutu
Sun Jun 28, 2026, 11:29 AM

Mobutu was, as you may know, the longtime (and CIA-installed) dictator of what's now the DR Congo.

Already a poor country, he drove what was then Zaire into the ground by basically treating the central bank as his own piggy bank - and generous U.S. and French aid as his personal payments.

And what money didn't end up in European banks and estates, it ended up paying for the construction (using costly European contractors) of several mansions scattered throughout Zaire - one of the largest countries in the world.

One looked like a Chinese temple in the Forbidden City, and another included a runway big enough for a Concord.

Few dared complain.

That's Cheeto's model of governance: that of a craven African dictator.

I don't begrudge a former president basic protection. It's the massive year-round drain on secret service resources and tax dollars that this post-presidency private vanity project will entail that I find intolerable.

I’d guess that the contractors who do the WH construction will also work on this project. Miraculously the costs for his Bedminster construction will be almost nothing.

You misspelled 'bunker'.

(You all know damned well what he is doing. It is what they are all doing. As soon as sociopolitical attitudes shift away from them enough, they will all be going into hiding. And, still being the most damaging influence on the rest of us. And, we will just keep on letting them... won't we?)
