It would sort of bag and wrinkle funny around the shoulders. I don't know whose bright idea those damn things were but they made everybody look weird and top-heavy. A woman I worked with liked that football player look. She was overweight and had the fashionable Big Hair and her big shoulders on top, but she wore tight leggings below the enormous jacket, and she had very small feet. So she always looked like she was balancing her big top half on these teensy feet and would fall right over if you gave her a little shove. Not a good look, IMO.

I had a worsted wool blue pin stripe.
I wore either gray or burgundy shoes. Never brown.
I wore a different pair of gray with a gray suit, black on black. Beige linen with the pale gray double breasted.
I had a pair of medium brown faux alligator I wore with my olive green suit.
Yeah, I had a lot of shoes back then. All Euro cut slip-on dress shoes.
When I started traveling extensively and doing most of my work in actual operating sites, I quit wearing suits & sport coats. So, the shoes became of low value.
I gave them away about 10 years ago.

wear to be "fashionable" whether they look good in it or not. It soon falls out of favor. And you will have to buy new fashions. It keeps the clothing industry running. Style.is something that stays fairly constant. My wedding dress was fashionable in 1979. but not today, My Juliet veil that wore is not fashionable today. Even though they are beautiful. no one would wear them today. I think men have it easier in style vs. fashion. It is not an excuse to judge others. Style never goes out. I hate the damn things! I have no idea if they are still fashionable or not since I am a frump.

But I have hated high heels every single time I had to wear them (which fortunately was not too many times). I am not very tall, but I’d rather stay at 5’ 3.5”(no forgetting the 0.5 dammit!) over wear those horrible things!
