Our D.U. neighbor . Livetohike and her Husband are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Bad punctuation dyslexic ramble ahead.

I find this so beautiful that two people have spent half century together. I sit and think two people meet they fall in love and they marry two total strangers.

And if you both are fortunate you find yourselves growing deeper in love as a couple. Or you find that you become so in sync with your spouse.

In that over decades together you both communicate non verbally in that you can understand each other’s body language or feel their energy or emotions without saying a word and completely understand what they are feeling.

And over the years you find that you love your spouse more intensely than when you were first married. Yes you have differences as a couple and disagreements.

I read this once. In a marriage you have that person who loads the dishwasher like an engineer and then the person who loads it like a raccoon on crystal meth.

Yet as i sit and have coffee this morning listening to my golden floof Dunc going at it on chew bone. I think of my friend livetohike and her husband in being together fifty years.

And I’m so happy for both of them they are truly amazing couple.

And you’re right they are doing better all the time. Two wonderful grown children, a lot different from my life, which I screwed up. Big congratulations to Livetohike!

Dad told me the first 10 years he wasn’t sure it would work. Then he said by 30 years he didn’t how he could live without her.

My husband and I have 40 years together. Each year I fall more in love with him. He is, quite simply, the best thing that ever happened to me. I wish you many, many more happy years together.
