Why do dogs chew up Barbie dolls?

My granddaughter (age 7) sometimes forgets to take her dolls home after playing here. My 10 yo little hound likes to chew off their hands and feet. Her dogs at home do the same thing. I'm trying to figure out what goes on in those doggie brains to make them target dolls.

Bacon fat is a good high temp oil. It's used to keep Barbie from sticking to a mold. marble falls Mar 25 #7

My sister once had a dog that chewed up her video game joysticks. I’ve seen dogs go for TV remotes, too.

... but mostly on the parts not covered by clothing. The dogs are doing this for the same reason they chew your socks.
