A birthday house was a place where no parents were home. Wheee!

Since there was no adult supervision, teens would flock there to party, dance, smoke, make out, try some of the parents' alcoholic beverages. This was before weed and other recreational drugs reached the suburbs.

I was too much of a nerd to be invited to parties, and too afraid of my parents' wrath to risk it anyway.

It was a kid's birthday show hosted by Ricly Wertz and her dog Copper.

Ricky also hosted Junior High Quiz. (I was an 'alternate' on our school's 8th grade team) but my DAD loved Ricky in 1959. She had the late night news 'Sleepy Time Weather Girl'- and she wore a lacy (but modest) silky/lacy negigee. LOL!!
