an ice skating question

do people still skate on frozen lakes or ponds ? do people still skate at all. thanks for your patience and answers .

Unprofessionally…home town winter recreational ice skating is only waiting for freezing temperatures….
Yes, on lakes, some cooperative rivers, and backyard rinks. Also there are some indoor arenas.
My backyard flooded last winter in an unusual midwinter rain event, went skating for fun after it froze.

4. Yes. Many neighborhood parks in MN still flood and put up skating rinks with lights and warming houses.

... but I live just outside Chicago in a town that sets up outdoor rinks in a few parks (weather permitting).
