(50,508 posts)The Lilac scent doesn't work for everyone. For some folks it smells like a great flowery scent. For others it smells like cat pee.

(2,248 posts)As someone who suffers from Chronic Migraine I wish that everyone would consider how much scented products they apply. My worst attacks generally occur after I have encountered someone who has decided that they must apply the entire bottle, can, stick, etc. because more is better. I do a monthly injection of Emgality and use Nurtec when I need and they have reduced my attacks greatly, but they don't eliminate them. OK, rant over, but please use these scented items sparingly. Thanks for listening.

(2,248 posts)I've had to leave restaurants when the wait staff take a break outside to smoke and then load up on the smelly stuff to try and cover up the smell and then pop over to your table the see if you need something! BOING! Instant migraine.

(2,248 posts)I have multiple triggers. Smells, barometric pressure, sudden loud sounds. Just to name a few. The injections have helped tremendously but I still get a violent head banger every week or two. Sorry you have to be a fellow traveler with this nasty pain.
To OP, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

(50,508 posts)I checked the scent profiles of both, and they have tobacco. Apparently I like the smell of green tobacco leaf because I hate the scent of smoked tobacco.

(11,239 posts)I couldn't be around her real Christmas tree because it infused a migraine headache for me.
Other items that produce a migraine for me: vaping juice, certain cologne, certain perfumes and all scented candles.
Obviously I can't go into candle and Bath and Body Works type of stores.
Please don't be creeping up on me, applegrove. I don't want a migraine today.

and patchouli has always been my thing.
Have to admit it really took the edge off when a guy slobbered after me and declared I smelled like sex, though. *willies*
Otherwise, I also like bergamot and pine-y scents.

Absolutely nothing compelling about the guyunless youre talking about the desire to run in the opposite direction.

(141,800 posts)is my description for my faves; used to wear a small spritz on wrist every day. From Nina Ricci. There are several, L'air du Temps was most popular, means "the spirit of the times."
I have about 2/3 of a container still available of a different one , which my daughter and I try occasionally. Nina is one, described as 'fruity,' Premier Jour is another, described as floral, with notes of gardenia, orchid, and sweet pea.
Citrus: It includes a hint of mandarin for a fresh, bright opening.
THANKS for the discussion; reminding me of SO MUCH!!!
