Enjoying a San Francisco cocktail tonight.

Sloe gin, sweet and dry vermouth, and a dash of bitters. Yummy. I think when this bottle of sloe gin is gone, I’m not going to get another. It makes for a distressingly blood red drink.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I love the cocktail so much, people at my previous job started calling me Manhattan. Coolest nickname I ever had.

4. Bourbon. And as a Washington State patriot, I only keep Woodinville Bourbon in the house. Incredible stuff.

Woodinville also distills a rye whiskey, which I have tried. I didn't like it any more than I've liked any other rye. I just can't get into it. Rye is too harsh, too rough around the edges. I don't even keep it as a mixer anymore. I just substitute bourbon.

I've never tried Maker's Mark. But I've heard good things.

5. I was never a fan of Rye either. My favorite, but very pricey bourbon, is from Kings County

Distillery in Brooklyn NY. When I need some my cousin sends me a bottle.

I found them when I visited my old duty station in NYC which was the Brooklyn Army Terminal which along with the Brooklyn Navy Yard are now commercial enterprises. Really cool place.

8. The prices are not at all unreasonable.

I'll pick up a bottle when my current Woodinville runs out.

Thanks!
