A funny, but true question.

People are asking when the Christmas party is scheduled for the Target and Walmart self-checkout employees.

But I do go to a grocery store warehouse called Woodman's that is open 24 hours a day, and at night self-checkout is all there is. There is always someone working the area because the machines break down, or there is difficulty scanning an item or sending it forward to the bagging area (Kool-Aid packets are notorious). I also see people in these areas in the daytime.

So I believe there are self-checkout employees. They are not cashiers; they are problem solvers. They tend to cover half a dozen registers or even more. If they work at Target or Walmart, they're probably underpaid. Why not let them have a party?
