The White River Sioux believe that the very first human came from a blood clot that a rabbit played with until, after awhile, it took on the form of a human boy. He was called Rabbit Boy or Blood Clot Boy.

At the very beginning of time, as soon as Rabbit Boy finds the very first village, he was welcomed by many. However, envy filled the heart of one member and as is so common today, his jealousy led him to his eventual death, as he tied himself into such knots, that when it came time to save his own life, he was so consumed with Rabbit Boy that he couldn't remember the words to life's song.

Please give us a day filled with opportunities to celebrate the gifts we see in others, reminded that the gifts of others make us stronger, smarter, and more fully human.
