(113,605 posts)But, if there was one thing I learned is never go out at dawn to walk my sweet old pup without a baseball cap. (I can recall two incidents of unwitting guys getting scalped that way over the past 20 years and boy did the tv news go wild over those stories!)

They are tiny, for owls, only the size of robins.

These little Burrowing Owls are also quite small, and active during the day as well!
