(2,521 posts)My grandmother came from Poland and never quite got the concept of leaving the money under the pillow. She would stand at the doorway of my room and throw a handful of coins at me while I slept. When I woke up there be would change all over my bed! It was kind of like an Easter egg hunt with money instead of eggs! It was great.

I actually gave my son an IOU. Somehow we had no cash on hand, either that or only had big bills and didn't want to establish a precedent.
