I’m from the Midwest (Iowa) and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use mustard on fries…

That said, I like a good sweet-spicy barbeque sauce for dipping (air-fried are the best!) and I was probably never a “normal” midwesterner to begin with, so what do I know?

My usual is ketchup or mayo on the side. I like malt vinegar splashed on if it's a fish and chips kind of meal. Not long ago, I tried dipping some in garlic-lemon aioli and it was soooo good! 😋I plan on mixing some up next time I have fries.

90% of the time, along with salt and maybe pepper.

The other 5%'s are "crab fries" from Chickie & Pete's (old bay seasoning and some kind of cheese sauce) or Thrasher's beach fries.... Fresh cut, cooked in peanut oil, and they only have salt and vinegar available. I usually just add salt there.

I did go through a phase when I was about 12 years old where I liked mayonnaise on them.
