margarita aficionados (and amateurs, too)

what is your ratio? 3-2-1, 2-1-1, 5-3-6?

I usually start with 5-3-6 and then play to taste. almost always use key limes and they can really vary on tartness. I also tend to add just a touch of agave syrup to sweeten just a little more.

I also use decent tequila - usually a reposado because that is what I most often have on hand, Cointreau for the orange.

oh and happy not-really-a-Mexican-holiday. but good excuse for some asada and a margarita!

Use fresh limes and Cointreau. Not Roses lime, although I like that and it has its uses. Definitely not Gran Gala, Cointreau is cleaner, lighter and not oily. Now that you have laid out the recipe, I might have to try it. I’m a fan of lime forward drinks!
We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant today and I got an excellent margarita that I didn’t have to mix! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

love a real daiquiri and mojitos too. and you never see collins anymore but used to love them with lime instead of lemon.
