When a neurologist insisted my now-departed cat Felix was completely out of it, and, later, completely paralyzed, he nonetheless responded to my singing "When I Fall in Love." Even the neurologist was surprised. I don't think she had seen the movie The Music Never Stopped
By all means, sing to your animal companions. They'll love it.

(9,510 posts)Lots of his videos on Facebook, but he is on YouTube too, in pastures and at zoos. Cows, bears, lions, giraffes, hippos, penguins, horses, llamas, you name it and there is likely a video of Plumes playing and singing to it. And the responses are always lovely.
