Things like that always look so much easier than they really are. And I don't see a single thing (other than a few pixel-sized pigment gaps) that could be better.

For that style of work, btw, I like a heavier ground than usual, such as Gamblin's oil painting ground, which fills the dips that you tend to get in the canvas weave a little better. A little smoother surface is more ideal if you aren't going heavy on the brushwork.

Framing on small canvasses is key. I like to start with the frame, really, where you can find something small and ornate, and then create a painting to fill the frame.

At a local art store.

I dream of someday seeing the roche pastel store and also Sennelier, in Paris! Won’t happen but I dream.

And classes! Not a week goes by that I don’t look back fondly at art classes I was in as a young person….mostly it was so wonderful to work with other people also working at art. Making art alone in a studio gets very very lonely.

How cool that you did such wonderful things for your community!

Glimmers, reflection of the light off the wet oil paint tbh…there don’t appear to be unpainted spots in real life…I have the hardest time taking photos of my oil paintings without those shiny things…is it just me, is there a trick to taking a photo of a still wet oil painting? I’m so clueless…

and I'm not an expert on that at all. I think generally the more diffuse light the better, like a north-facing window. I have a reflective umbrella I use with a good full spectrum bulb to get a good color-correcting light on the canvas when painting, and that might work well for photographing them as well, haven't tried yet.

My intuition was telling me. Don’t know why I know certain things I have no reason to know, but sometimes in life that’s how it went for me, that magic intuition.

Breast has two masses with edges that make the masses suspicious.

It’s unusual to have cancer in both breasts at the same time. I always was different.

I’ve been having night sweats and I’m been over menopause close to ten years. Looks like it’s spread, maybe, is what I am thinking. Well. let’s see what comes next. I really hate pain, though.
