Apply the pencils? And what paper do you use?

I have some pencils but I am not sure if I just draw/color on the surface/paper then use a water wash or if the pencil is dipped in water like a brush..?

I used prang solids, I like the way the paint shines when it's thick.

u need a watercolor paper. i like arches blocks.
dont rec wetting the pencil, except for high emphasis. but if u wet the paper, you’ll get a strong line.

there’s also a trick w salt water, but i’m not sure what it is exactly. dont do art anymore, but my shero, ruth vansickle ford was a master, and that’s her trick. i’ll try to look that up. it was in a biography.

I tried them for fine lines in a couple of my water color products. I make greeting cards that are first block printed with oil based ink then I color them in with watercolors. I didn't feel confident that I could use them on those but haven't had any painting projects lately. Since they were used so successfully here, I thought I'd ask.
