and didn't see it but I just looked at my TV and on TCM Foul Play is on Sunday, Nov. 11th, at 7 PM. I'll record that, The Best years Of Our Lives and Private Benjamin.

LOVED this as a young teenager (and Motown fan). I bought the record with babysitting money, and memorized Diana Ross's every little nuance of every song. (Now having heard Billie Holiday, I do wish she'd gone for a little more of an impersonation of Holiday's style. It was a little too easy to use the voice and musical inflections of the later era for the sake of popularity.)
It was understood at the time that heroin addiction was the worst of the worst. It seemed so far away from anything I would ever know until it came into my family.
